1. Introduction to WAP

To download items such as Polyphonic Ringtones through WAP, you will need to have a WAP enabled handset. Most handsets made after 2001 are WAP enabled. Please see our compatibility guide to be certain. If you do not have WAP set up on your handset, please configure your handset through your manufacturer's web site. Alternatively use our settings at the bottom of this page. Some service providers in UK including Orange have limited the bandwidth on their WAP service, this means that you might be experiencing problems, if this is the case then again we advise you to change your settings to the settings at the bottom of this page.

It is not possible for us to send Polyphonic Ringtones 'over the air'; you WILL need to download them using our WAP site / PIN system.

A WAP connection is needed to download Polyphonic Ringtones, True Tones, Colour Backgrounds, Colour Logos, Animated Screensavers and Video Clips. WAP accounts are usually chargeable but can be a free call from your mobile phone service provider; if they are chargeable it is usually charged at local or national rates. Contact your provider if unsure.

4. How to Download a Free Test Item

Before ordering and paying for an item, it is recommended that you first attempt a Free Test Download to make sure that your phone can support our WAP downloads and our items. In order to do this you will have to follow these instructions:

  1. Go to wap.mobilefun.co.uk on your mobile phone handset
  2. Select Test Area
  3. Choose your service to download a test item free of charge
  4. Where necessary choose your manufacturer
  5. Your Free Test item will now download onto your phone

Please Note. If this Free Test Download fails, do not attempt to order as we will not be able to offer a refund if the item you order also fails to download.

Sharp Guide to retrieving Items via WAP

  1. Got to Menu > My Phone > WAP Bookmarks
  2. Select Options then select Add and Enter MobileFun - press ok
  3. Enter wap.mobilefun.co.uk
  4. Go to 'My Bookmarks' and select the bookmark you have just created by pressing the blue button when the cursor is over the bookmark.
  5. Select "Enter PIN"
  6. Enter your PIN and Mobile Phone number
  7. Follow the instructions on screen to download your Item

(Note. If you are downloading a Polyphonic Ringtone, while it is playing you need to press the green button that you normally use to start a call. This will bring up a menu, from this menu select option 7 which is the 'Save Items' option. This will take you to another screen with the word menu in the bottom right hand corner which you need to select. Then select 'Save' which is the first option on that menu. Confirm the save and the tone will be in 'Your Sounds' section of your phone. From here you can re-name it and listen to it as you please.)
